Note: When comparing test results with other helmets, pay close attention to the Velocity of the impact. Many helmet companies will not show you the speed to which the helmet was subjected to, but instead say that their helmets performed at 250 G's, etc., but fail to tell you the velocity.

Or use them for outdoor use where metal rings would rust or wear out. The days of the metal ring are over. Here is why. Featuring a patented ball-lock design (photo inset) to prevent FOD out on the flight line. This is not hinged. There is very little resistance to checklist pages when they move over this closure. The nylon ring is very low resistance as well. Pages really slide well, getting you to the page you want without the problems metal rings used to give.

As far as Safety goes, there is no question this is the ring to use. You don't need to be trying to get 10 of your checklist pages off of the cockpit floor so you can finish your Electrical Failure checklist! Once they are closed, they stay closed.

We seem to get this a lot, but there is a great reason for why we sell it "a la carte." The PIVOT case depends on flexibility and multi-location mounting options. Not everyone NEEDS the PPK-1 with every mount. They may already have purchased a 5 pack, or their company has issued them. Or it may be a replacement mount and a PPK-1 from the original mount is going into it.

The Air 2 has incorporated many changes and updates from the Air 1 PIVOT. We took feedback from our amazing user group of 8300+ pilots at Southwest Airlines and took great care to try and weave in as many of the updates they suggested as possible.

This XL FB1002 Checklist Ring is 2.25" in diameter compared to 1.75" for our FB1000 Checklist Rings. 

The locking mechanism is the same stainless-steel ball-and-knob design as on the FB1000, it's just a bit larger to accommodate more pubs. As with the FB1000, this ring will work great on our FB1316 Kneeboard.
